The Royal Society for Public Health is an independent, multi-disciplinary organisation, dedicated to the promotion and protection of collective human health and well-being.
Through advocacy, mediation, empowerment, knowledge and practice we advise on policy development, provide education and training services, encourage scientific research, disseminate information and certify products, training centres and processes.
This year's American Public Health Association (APHA) conference was held in San Diego, California, between 25-29th October with the theme 'Public Health without Borders'. In the RSPH session, Dr. Selwyn Hodge, Chair elect of the RSPH, and Dr Mahmood Adil, Director of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), discussed regulation of health and social care in England.

The RSPH is an independent charity formed in October 2008 by the merger of the Royal Society of Health (RSH) and the Royal Institute of Public Health(RIPH).
Our qualifications are recognised by industry and government. All our centres meet our guidelines for providing RSPH qualifications and their trainers are qualified to the relevant levels in their teaching subject.
Membership of the RSPH is available to anyone working in the area of public health
The RSPH has two accreditation services, one for products and one for in-house company training programmes. The common theme is that both are concerned with maintaining high standards of public health, hygiene and safety.
The RSPH is leading a national Human Papillomavirus (HPV) education programme to raise awareness and understanding about HPV and cervical cancer.
